The one and only full-featured North American flying squirrel educational resource on the web!
Why not go for a walk in a forest today? Why not bug your parent(s), guardian, Big Sister or Big Brother to go for a walk in a local forest next weekend? Why not bug your parent(s), guardian, Big Sister or Big Brother to go camping this summer - in a forested campground, naturally!Fuertes

Several sections of this website are "content deprived" and some are not running at "full steam".

Please don't go squirrelly on us...we're adding new and updated content on an ongoing basis! Make sure you check our recently-upgraded video section!

Clicking the FlyingSquirrels.com banner at the top of any page will bring you home.

We hope you enjoy your online visit with these captivating wonders of YOUR forests.

This website was conceived and developed in 2000, with an aim to provide a greater general awareness of, and a science-based information portal about North America's two species of these fascinating, nocturnal, tree-dwelling, forest-dependent gliding mammals. From a value-added prespective, it is hoped that FlyingSquirrels.com will provide some of the "tools" required which allow every child or youth the opportunity to make their very own personal connections to the natural world, and accordingly, assist in their building a stronger "sense of place" on this planet we must share with all other known (and unknown!) life forms. Accordingly, we encourage school children to employ the information presented on this website without restrictions, for their personal use in their school projects, essays and reports....and especially their imagination and sense of wonder.

Attention Students: unless specified otherwise, when writing your report or essay, or compiing a big project, please cite "Steve Patterson, FlyingSquirrels.com", or "Steve Patterson,  FlyingSquirrels.ca" as the source of the information you present, should that information have been obtained at this website. All other uses are strictly prohibited unless authorized, in writing, by Steve Patterson or authorized agent on behalf of Hummingbird Services, 523-251 Queen Street South, Streetsville, Ontario, Canada L5M 1L7

Leave the copying of other folk's work for the "Homer and Bart Simpsons" of this world. Plagiarism will hurt YOU far more than anyone else!
