Louis Agassiz Fuertes [1874-1927] was a noted ornithologist, artist, and native of Ithaca, New York, USA. Shortly after his death in 1927 his personal collection of approximately 3500 skins was acquired by the Cornell University Ornithology Collection. Included were specimens from all his expeditions except his last to Ethiopia. Localities represented include New York, Florida, Texas, Wyoming, Nevada, Quebec, Alaska, the Bahamas, Mexico, and Colombia.
