Date: Monday, August 4
Day: 38
Kilometre: 7801
Location: Prince George, British Columbia
I awoke at 6:15 this morning and broke camp by 7:20 - 300 kilometres or so to Prince George and show date at The Exploration Place in Prince George. The Exploration Place is a combined Science Centre and Regional Museum. Half their funding comes from government, the rest comes from fund-raising, admittance fees, etc.
I was taken on a quick tour and was quite impressed with the facility - I hope Prince George folks appreciate this little gem too!
I arrived two hours ahead of time and with the help of Amanda Tisseur, The Exploration Place’s Manager of Teaching & Learning, we ironed-out all the bugs and potential bugs.
The Exploration Place’s staff were all excited about the squirrels and the show, and you could tell that they were all passionate about their jobs. There were concerns that not enough folks had pre-purchased tickets to the show, but before showtime we had a full house - lots of “last-minute deciders” in Prince George! The show went very well (some noisy kids were the only, albeit minor, issue) and the squirrels did their usual thing with aplomb.
The local newspaper sent a photographer out to the show and he got some good pics.
Below, The Exploration Place’s awesome team: from left to right - Jen, Kendall, Amanda, Rebecca, Stacy.

So now I must leave Prince George and find a campsite closer to my next destination, Vancouver. More to follow….
