Squirrels Of The World
This
section deals with all non-North American flying squirrels.
We know far, far more about our two North American species of flying
squirrel than everything we know about the other 41 species combined!
Unfortunately, people in some parts of Asia consider flying squirrel a
delicacy on restaurant menus and on the dinner table at home. They are
often found for sale, caged and alive, in open-air food markets. No
consideration is given to whether they are endangered or not, and fines
and/or prosecution are either not established or not enforced.
