The player will show in this paragraph X-rated! This was recorded in January 1999. A rather excited male is eager to enter to get an early start on mating season. A little too eager, perhaps! For northern flying squirrels at our latitude (44degN), mating season doesn't begin in earnest until March. Males do not become scrotal until late winter and females are able to become impregnated (oestrus) only during a short window of 24 to 36 hours, so this fellow is wasting his time. Oh well, nothing wrong with a little practice, as long as the female doesn't mind!
