On September 13th our case was heard before a Federal Court Judge. The Judge issued a written judgement on September 21st. We won and the Judge made an Order for the Crown to pay "costs". Note - traditionally, "costs" end up being only a fraction of the monies spent on a defense. A schedule is applied to arrive at a figure. Complete costs are not usually awarded. On September 24, the Crown informed us they were appealing the Federal Court Judge's decision. We have paid over $30,000CDN for our legal defense to this point.
