Fern Bisel Peat Illustration From the 1932 Saalfield Publication “Friends of the Forest” by Frank North Shankland, this full color plate shows Peat’s more naturalistic work. Measures approximately 12” high by 8.5-8.75 inches wide. This is “Fluffy the Flying Squirrel". Text on back reads: When Fluffy jumped from a high limb, he would spread out his four legs, drawing the skin along his sides tight, and so make himself into a sort of flat parachute.”
