1918 Fuertes Flying Squirrel Color Print A wonderful 1918 color print of a flying squirrel from the paintings of Louis A Fuertes, beloved animal, bird, wildlife and dog artist. Louis Agassiz Fuertes, American [1874-1927] Louis Agassiz Fuertes was a noted ornithologist, artist, and native Ithacan. Shortly after his death in 1927 his personal collection of approximately 3500 skins was acquired by the CU Ornithology Collection. Included were specimens from all his expeditions except his last to Ethiopia. Localities represented include New York, Florida, Texas, Wyoming, Nevada, Quebec, Alaska, the Bahamas, Mexico, and Colombia.
